Knot Work

Knot work is a type of embroidery that uses a needle with a hooked end to create intricate patterns. The needle is called an aari needle, and it is used to make small, tight stitches that are then secured with knots. Aari-knot work is a traditional embroidery technique from India, and it is often used to embellish clothing, accessories, and home décor.

The most common type of knot used in aari-knot work is the French knot. French knots are created by wrapping the thread around the aari needle twice before pulling it through the fabric. This creates a small, raised knot that can be used to create a variety of effects, from simple dots to large flowers.
